Angers Seed Phenotyping Facility

Angers Seed Phenotyping Facility is located and managed by GEVES (Beaucouzé)

Origin and Expertise

This facility builds upon the expertise developed by the SNES (National Seed Testing Station) in the field of seed phenotyping.
Over time, this expertise has been enhanced through advances in automation and image analysis, the result of collaborative research efforts initiated in the early 2000s between several partners in the plant science sector (GEVES, INRAE, Vilmorin) and in the information and communication technologies sector (Université d’Angers and ESEO – Graduate School of Engineering).

Activities and Access

The platform’s activities are designed to serve both professionals and researchers, through:

  • Service provision, such as germination kinetics and X-ray imaging,
  • Collaborative research projects,
  • Or direct access to our equipment and facilities.
